Now we all are aware that we MUST always clean our makeup brushes ... I'm sure you don't really clean your hair brushes?
I'm here to bang on about cleaning your hairbrush.. yes the one you use every day .. YES the one that's so full of hair you can't see the bottom of the brush pad!
IV'E SEEN IT! Glaring at me on the side of your dressing table ...
ME-Phie's Salon- I sterilize my brushes daily of course! I pop them in my Barbicide solution. Barbicide Solution is an EPA-registered hospital strength disinfectant for all salon tools and surfaces. Kills HIV-1 (AIDS virus), Hepatitis B and C virus and numerous other pathogenic organisms within 30 seconds. If your totally OCD about this you should get some!
OK so lets get started
Let us de-hair our brushes to start with.
For VERY hair clogged brushes you can start by diving in and grabbing all of the hair and pulling it right out of that dirty hair brush and chuck it in the bin!
For lightly clogged brushes, grab a pintail comb or any thin stick object.
Run the tail of the comb up each lane of the bristles scraping up as you go and taking the hair out. You can also use a comb to comb out the hair, literally comb your brush to remove the hair. You can also do this to your velcro rollers too!
Once all or most of the hair is out, get some hot water in your sink and shampoo/soap your brushes, rub shampoo in until lathered, you may want to use a scrubbing brush of sorts, maybe a toothbrush.. leave to soak, rinse off brushes and inspect. You may go in again with your pintail/stick and remove any strands of hair.
Place your clean brushes on a towel to air dry
gaze at your clean brushes in amazement!
You can clean your brushes after every use, just get that hair outa there!
product, dirt, skin and oil builds up on your brushes so wash them regularly.
Thank you for reading and cleaning!
